I ruined most all of the fine detail work I spent months getting just right. The damage has been repaired (for the most part) and now I have a 2nd buggy, a Manx clone. I will build this buggy this winter but I wont pay as much attention to details (like polishing the brass brake line tee). The Manx II will never be a trailer queen. I drive it all the time but it will never see the beach again either.
I have a 33 Ford coupe that has taken best in class at every car show it has been it, including 1st in class at 2 seperate World Of Wheels shows. I drive the car to all of the shows. It has been driven to shows as far away as South Dakota. I drove the car down the Chicago expressways in 5 inches of snow and salt to one of the World Of Wheels shows. It took first in class over the trailered cars. 
My brother and I built a buggy for my sister and sister in law. The buggy lives in the dunes. 4 years after we built it, they entered it in a show and took first in class. 
What I'm saying is, drive and use the vehicle the way it's supposed to be used and it can still win shows

He's building it to be a daily driver. Has over 400 hours in it so far. He says it will cause 'ulcers' trying to maintain this level of quality on a vehicle, and they're meant to be driven. He's hasn't driven a buggy yet. I cannot wait to see the finished pics either.
It sure looks like it will be a work of art.-

[/QUOTE] Jerry - It really was not to bad welding the pans . I used a tig welder and just fuzed the seams together . very little filler rod was needed as the seams were very closely matched before welding, also very little warpage because of the Tig

Bet not.[/QUOTE] Chuck - This one will not be for the back woods ( at least not for a few years ) It's been lowered so much it just be for the street . At some point I'd like to restore one for all around use (fire trails - fields - roads - beach etc.) Here is another shot of the body(in primer ) before I lowered it and glassed on side pods which I ordered from Winnie Meyers

[/QUOTE] Mvovr No body lift - just a 1/2 by 1-1/2 reinforcement bar running along the outside edges of the pan . The bolts you see on the top side of the pan are for holding in amps for the radio . I tried to attach a photo but am having trouble - Still learning the computer thing
