Who we are
The Manx Club is a 501(c)(7) non-profit club for Meyers Manx and dune buggy enthusiasts, run by volunteers. This page covers manxclub.com, the Manx Club app at manxclub.com/app and the club forum.
What we collect
- Membership: your name, mailing address, phone number, email, member number, membership term and dates.
- Event registration: the same contact details, how many buggies, adults and children are coming, what you ordered, and the PayPal transaction reference for your payment.
- Payments: handled by PayPal. We never see or store your card number.
- Tribute photos: the name you give, an optional member number, your photos and captions, and the internet (IP) address they came from, used only to moderate uploads and block abuse.
- The app and the forum: the profile, posts and photos you choose to share there. The app uses your location only for features you switch on, such as sharing where you are during an event.
- Server records: like any website, our server logs the IP address and browser of each visit. We use these logs to keep the site running and secure.
Cookies
We only use cookies the site needs to work: keeping you signed in (members' area, admin area), protecting forms from abuse, and remembering small preferences such as hiding the home-page headline. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies. Membership renewal reminder emails include a tiny image so we can tell whether the reminder reached you.
How we use it
- To run your membership: cards, renewals, the Manx Mania newsletter and the members' archive.
- To organize events: confirmations, schedules, name badges, shirts and orders.
- To send club news by email. Every newsletter email has an unsubscribe link.
Who sees it
Club officers and the volunteer coordinator of an event you register for can see the details needed for that job. We use a few service providers to run the club: PayPal for payments and an email delivery service for club email. We don't sell, rent or trade your information.
How long we keep it
We keep membership records while you're a member and afterwards as the club's membership history. Registration records are kept for the club's accounts. Unfinished checkouts are archived automatically.
