Good mechanic in LA area?

Can anyone recommend a good mechanic in the LA area? I live in Eagle Rock/Highland Park - so something in Glendale, Burbank, Pasadena, Downtown would be best.

T C's Old Vee Dub Home 818 353-0011 in Tujunga. A one man sop, but he has worked on vw's forever. Good place to get advice also, some parts, new and used too. Anything vw, he has an answer.

Not sure if the buggy will make it that far, so if anyone else knows of someone else closer, I'd appreciate it. fyi: I just bought the thing from out of state. I driven it twice - both times it's died within a few miles & had to be towed back. I've taken it to a VW mechanic in Glassel Park twice but he can't find the problem. I think it's something floating around the gas tank, but I'm very new to the 1600 & it's components, so I'd like to take it to someone who knows what they're doing.
