Need a good machine shop
Need a good machine shop
I have my block torn apart now and I am ready to send i of to have to bored and all that fun stuff. There is not a machine shop with in driveing distance of here that will touch a vw block, so I will have to mail it of some where. I am comeing to you guys for suggestions. I can look at anyones web site and they all say they are the best, but I want to know who is good and who I should stay away from. Any help would be great. thanks
Send it to these guys: http://www.rimcovw.com/ Or, just buy one of these: http://www.cbperformance.com/catalog.asp?ProductID=1464
These guys do excellent work, but it might cost you a fortune to ship this far from TN. You might do an online search for a buggy shop in the Atlanta area, that`s not too bad a drive from Choo-Choo town. http://www.bugsnbuggies.com/home.htm
Isn't there a shop inTenn called KCR or Kawell or something like that. They always advertise in the back of Hot VW's . I'll have to check. Here it is: http://www.kawellracing.com/
Dave and Judy Kawell...Kawell Racing Engines. http://www.kawellracing.com Both Dave or Judy can build a VW engine with their eyes closed and they are great people, but I'm not sure if they do machine work anymore on engines that they are not building. It's worth a phone call.
