you're right Reverb, it's "freezing" in Tucson, Arizona. I just returned from a short trip to refill the propane bottle, boy it was rough in the buggy...59 degrees. Normally, we check out Christmas lights driving the buggy right before Christmas, I hope it warms up soon. AZSpeedBuggy

I drove my Manx in a parade a few weeks ago. It was 25deg. when I pulled in the garage after the 20 mile drive home from the parade. No more winter parades in the buggy. :x
Jeez, my buggys been off the road for 2 months now (New England sucks!) My wife and I have been talkin about moving to arizona, or nevada. Not sure what kind of job I can find there (I'm a CNC programmer) but I can't stand the winter months here anymore. Also the thought of using my buggy more, and riding my motorcycles everyday is VERY appealing. Freezing here in MASS. Jay
Jay. I hear ya. I moved to New Hampshire once in the fall. I shoveled snow like every day. not only that but while I was at work the #%@&*$# snow plows shoved snow up and blocked my driveway. Plus it was so cold I coulndt even do my job. The locals loved it. ran snowmobiles all the time. I even saw some peeps break thru the ice to go swimming! As soon as spring came I moved back to Virginia... Call me a flatlander...

Howdy folks, I have relatives in New England. They send me pix of them in the Snow. Another relative lives in Montana. He says Montana has two seasons. Winter and July. :laugh1: I live in SoCal. We're not all as crazy as the rumors seem to imply. It's the only part of the country you can see one car going one way to the Beach with surfboards on top, and the next car going the other way with Snow Skis heading up to the mountains on the same day. But, it has been cold here. I had to quit wearing my shorts and start wearing my Wranglers. Brrrrrr. (P.S. I don't like weather you have to shovel) :hello: Warmly,

I grew up in the N.W. suburbs of Chicago. I attended Embry-Riddle Aeronatical University in Daytona Beach in the late 70?s-early 80?s. After returning to Daytona Beach and Ormond Beach regularly for the past 20 years I decided it was time to move back for good. We moved to Florida about three years ago. I constantly get asked if I still like living here after all the hurricanes. My reply is ?I haven?t had to shovel after a hurricane?. :laugh1: Now my buggy is my daily driver! Hang Loose, Dave

Mvovr-good article. I live in New Smyrna Beach believed to be Old St. Augustine. It was so inhospitable here that they moved the city. One of the main reasons was the mosquitos. The other was the Indians kept burning them out. The lagoon here is still named mosquito lagoon. The official slogan of St. Augustine was "the oldest continuously inhabited city in the United States" . Somehow over the years they dropped the "continuosly inhabited" part. We in NSB know better. We would be famous if it weren't for those dang birds err mosquitos. Hey wait a minute we are famous. We are the Shark Bite Capital of the World. Guess you have to be tough to live here. First search came up with this article there are many more. Sharks

I was planning on bringing the buggy up next year around July when she is there. Sure would be cool to say hey and cruise a little. :driving: We will have to keep in touch.

Here in Perth, Western Australia we reckon that we have the climate that California claims to have. Well things are a bit haywire at the moment. Today 17th December we have just had the first warm (not hot) day this summer. Until yesterday I was wearing my winter weight dressing gown and sheep skin Ugg boots at night. It was cold and wet and miserable. This is the coldest start to summer on record. Soon I will be prostrated by the heat. A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL. Richard.

No, no, no! You have it ALL wrong. You want to stay as FAR away from the Southwest and California as possible. Snow is a GOOD thing. It keeps you busy all winter. With all the sunshine out here, you get lazy laying on the beach all year and get fat, not to mention the winter sun burns.... Then the crazy's come out cause they can't make up their mind if they want to go to the desert or the mountains or the beach or all of them in one day trip. Then the earthquakes will flatten your home in an instant any you will be reduced to living out of your Mercedes! Then, for the cost of a new home that won't even fit all your furniture, you could own THREE homes on the snow belt part of the country! (Yes, you too could have different summer homes...). Did I mention the annual brush fires? Pack up the valuables , at least the ones that fit in the car, and RUN FOR YOUR LIVES! (you have 30 seconds, this is a timed sporting event here). Then there are the winter activities of El nino and La nina. One makes enough rain to send walls of mud from the previously burned out areas crashing down the hillsides through your front window, and the other drys everything up to the point of flash combustability (wasn't there suppose to be at least SOME rain this year?). Then the whole cycle starts all over again (on opposite years). The best way to avoid these problems is to be in an area with SNOW!. Doesn't cause mud slides, keeps the hills from burning down around your feet, and it's fun to throw at your brother-in-law when he isn't looking. Yes, I think the best thing to do is stay away from this area. Better yet, get as many people here to move away to where there is MORE safe snow. Then my 30 mile commute won't take an hour and a half any more!!! (Did I mention the SMOG as thick as pea soup?!.....) Need I go on..... :laugh1: :driving:  :drinking:

Everyone's headed west. Better give up on that reverse psychology and move to the NorthEast! :laugh1:

Is it wrong to get sun burn while putting out the Christmas lights?
