I am guessing this is going to be one looooong running joke around here now! anyway, are those 5 inch lights you've got on there unclebob? they look different. in a nice way.looking at maybe going smaller on mine to not interfere wit the filler which is right up against my light. Image
You might want to consider shortening the filler neck on your tank. Once the neck is shortened there won't be any interference between the headlight and filler neck. There are some pictures at this link of the process involved to shorten the filler neck. http://www.manxgallery.org/gallery/album224?page=1 Image Geeez.....Here is a real Manx with no badging
are those 5 inch lights you've got on there unclebob? they look different. in a nice way.
Yes, 5" Stainless units. Wasn't sure I'd like them at first, but wanted something a little different. My wife always said the 7" headlights on my Empi Imp were 'cute' and looked like 'eyes'. That drove me nuts. It's real hard to make a buggy not look 'cute', you know what I mean? They're non-DOT though, but nobody has given me any trouble. I like the rubber mounts instead of the chrome 'cup' on the 7" buckets.

I was going to ask about your lights as well UB. As you can see I have the same issue on mine with tank neck to close to the lights. Just can not bring myself to welding with a full tank. Of course with my welding skills I would melt the car first anyway. (I'm Kidding) Guess I wil have to drive it empty first!! :driving:

Easy there cowboy. I'm no genius, but..........DO NOT WELD ANYTHING THAT HAS HAD GAS IN IT. I case you were joking, not even funny.

If you flush the tank with water a couple times then fill it with water to just below the filler neck you will not have a problem no matter how old the tank is. I have probably welded up 10 filler necks on used tanks in the past year without issue.

Yep, I've had many motorcycle gas tank seams welded by filling the tank with water. It will work, but, I've got to say, I had someone else do the welding and I paid my $$$.
