Bug Jam Winners?
I think the first place buggy is the one that had the wild flame job. I understand that he keeps it in the garage and only brings it out to play for Bug Jam.... maybe that is just a rumor... One of the cars from Valrico is owned by a Highway Patrolman - He stripped a 65 Mustang and used the lights and seats. Had a 86 Olds steering wheel (tilt). But I really did not see the attention to detail on the buggy that Dave or Don had on theirs. The Mustang tailight bezels were rusty, rusty, rusty. I dont understand the judges criteria - maybe none of them have ever built a buggy. You have to build one to know where to look for the important stuff. It was a pleasure seeing everyone again - and meeting Dave and Tony. Looking forward to the Turkey Rod Run next week... - Chuck, I owe you a meal now - let me know when you are going to be in Daytona...
Hey Jim, They open at 8:00. I suggest we get there about that time since you can't see it all in one day. I'll get with you closer to time to make arrangements to meet. Anyone else who wants to go let us know. Not much VW stuff there though. http://daytonabeachcarshows.com/turkeydex.html
I think the orange one in the parking lot - might be mine? I had just driven it 1300 miles to be in the show but they ran out of room - oh well. Now it's on a truck headed to Miami to be shipped to my home here in the British Virgin islands - it's actually a little more red - is this the one you were talking about?
Where in the BVI is it going? I have spent a bit of time on Anguilla - its a darn shame they drive on the wrong side of the road - funny thing, none of the cars have brakes,
just loud horns instead ( :driving: ) I have several customers in the islands - been there for deliverys - that is the life, man. Great looking buggy! - love the lines and color.

I live on Tortola in the BVI's, which is where the car is headed. We spend quite a bit of time over in St. Martin (only a 30-minute flight) and have been to Anguilla - great island! Brakes? What are brakes?
