Valve Cover Washers

Post by towd-dude »

I think someone once posted a thread about some rubber coated washers use to seal the valve cover hold down bolts. Possibly even mentiond they were sold by Napa. I have searched but can't find that thread. Can anyone help me out??? Or let me know what you use (except "O" rings). Bob

These are what I used: Image It's called a "Stat O Seal" and I think Earls sells them. I welded the the taper around the hole and machined it flat then I installed the seal and a flat washer on the bolt and snugged it down. I never leaked a drop.

I bought the seals from the Chassis Shop in Mears Michigan http://secure.chassisshop.com/categories/6317/ I suggest using hardened washers over the seal to prevent the washer from deforming as you tighten the nuts.
