I came across these photos on a slotcar forum I go on occasionally.I don't know who this dude is but he looks well happy even getting a soaking!!! Lovely looking Manx too...

Hey, I met this guy at the VW Classic in 2005. He lives in a little community towards the center of California, called Galt, southeast of the state captiol - Sacramento. I've got 5 pics of his '71 Manx. He was camera shy at the time, so, I didn't get any of my pics with him in the shot (glad to see in those other pics, he got over his shyness). That was an amazing buggy, and a neat trailer that went with it. He said it was originally blue gel coat (really messed up when he got it) and he had it painted the gold metalflake. I swear it looked like deep gel coat. It was perfect. Here are my pics...

His car was also featured in Hot VW's. As a matter of fact that picture in the rain looks like one from the US article.
