My new dash layout

Post by vincent9993 »

I've been trying to get the guts to drill out my newly acquired Dash from the Manx Store. This weekend I drilled out a piece of plexiglass to test the layout and practice drilling it out. I'll probably re-drill a new piece of plexi next weekend before I put bit to fiber! Anyway, what do you guys think of my layout? Last 2 knobs on right are photoshoped in, they're on order. The 2nd light switch is for the fogs.

The white plexiglass will not be there of course but you get the idea.

Nice! Are you going to add some Idiot lights for oil pressure & alternator (just in case you are not watching the gauges)? Also, how about turn signal & high beam indicators? I know you have the room but you probably want to add them in the layout. Tom

I remember you telling me about them idiot lights, I had forgotten about them. I'm thinking: OIL PRESSURE, HIGH BEAM, FLASHER in the center bottom between the speedo and tacho. I also have a buzzer that I can hear when oil pressure drops.

Vincent, Looks excellent! You might want to swap locations of the speedo and the tach. The steering wheel gets in the way of part of the tach in my car, but I can see the speedo just fine. The oil pressure gauge is a little tough to see because of the steering wheel, but you won't have that problem because your gauges are mounted up high enough. Image

Make sure you have clearance behind your gauges for the windshield wiper motor and moving arms. Include room for the electrical spades...
