Early production pan car windshield detail. Note what is called shower door frame. Made of aluminum strap and U channel. Significance of this is that the U channel extrusion is same as windshield extrusion for monocoques #4-#12.
#1-#3 monocoque had ROUND STOCK aluminum machined with a slot to accept the windshield glass. This rod was then welded to an aluminum modified triangular bracket as a hinge point.
