master cylinder leaking

Post by james lemmon »

Hello, I've got a leak from my master cylinder. I have a 1962 Manx dune buggy. It looks like the leak is coming from the black plastic on the top of the cylinder, where the reservoir hose connects to the master cylinder (it looks like a black plastic seal). Before I go pulling the "plug" out or pushing it in more, is this an easy fix? should I check anything else before I do this? What book/manual should I get for this buggy so I can problem shoot little things? thanks for the help, James Lemmon

Sounds like the rubber plug that the inlet pipe fits into has perished, it's the eighth item down on this list. You shouldn't have to bleed the brakes after you've replaced it and topped the fluid up. http://www2.cip1.com/SearchResults.asp? ... ch1=Search
