Firebuggy, Tom knows performance, he used to race formula vee. I've known him for 20 years, mostly competing at car shows where I always lost: except once in 2001 with my signature series Manx. We talked and he told me of his new Manxter Manx he was building, and that was the last time I won. He builds great fast street buggys. I go to the beach. Since you are new to this site I wanted to inform you it is mostly unused and full of archived info. Most members now use the Manxclub facebook site. Go there for quicker response. Tom lives in Conn. and I live in Ma. where we have a foot of snow outside, and buggys are safely stored away. I only have 30 years experience in VW mostly offroad , but was helped locally with info by others when I was a newbie so I pass it forward. Look over this site in depth as most questions you will have were answered already. There is a lot here. I saw pictures of your buggy and it looks ready for Pismo Beach as is. Lower tire pressure to 8 psi to start. lower it if needed. That should work in the sand. If you don't lower tire pressure your buggy wont drive in the soft stuff. Have fun.

Again... thanks so much for all the help and wisdom. I'll definitely look up the posts on this forum to get some more information. My buggy is definitely no show car and I'm looking forward to beating it up some in the near future. Looking forward to learning from this forum and other resources. Igor
