Hello! New to the forum. Been working on our Manx for a few months now. Friend of a friend purchase. Found him in a garage untouched for atleast 10 years. After many hours of body work...we are getting ready to paint. So okay, let’s try and put the hood back on, easier said than done. I can get it on about 1 inch below gas spout. Then it gets hung up on the front end. Any advice would be appreciated.

If you can take a few minutes and post a coupe of pictures, that might help to visualize what you're dealing with.

Is it getting pinched at the front of the hood by the fenders,(near the headlight mounts)? Fiberglass tends to shrink over time and curves tighten up. If your body has been sitting for a while with the hood off, you may have to push down on the fenders to open up a little bit to get the hood to seat properly.

Hi, thank you for the responses. I haven’t had a chance to snap any photos.
It doesn’t seem to be getting pinched on the sides. We seem to be having trouble at the front end. Not getting over the lip very easily, then down at the back end. We are going to kind of table it for now, and get to painting.
A guy here at a local shop told us today that it will have a bit of a horshe shoe affect. Just because of the design. Also, that we may consider modifying our gas spout situation. Definitely considering the gas spout mod.
Will post again as needed. Slow process when squeezing the fun inbetween work.

Thanks again for the responses.
We went with modifying the gas tank neck...chopped it down. That was definitely the hang up! Fuel door to be installed.
Good call GotManx, a little persuasion at the front end of the fenders was necessary.
The job is coming along. Lots of holes have been patched, and it's prepped for paint. Then to tackle wiring. Learning a ton!!! Can't wait to see it finished
