Hobbies
Guys, apart from buggies what hobbies keep you occupied???? I never seem to find much time for hobbies now days, but it used to be power & fighter kite flying, kite powered buggies, shooting, fishing & canoeing. Muscle cars are another old love of mine, but it seems so long ago I seem to have forgotten a lot about it :help: did get real deep into Pontiacs back in the 80's & even started the Pontiac owners club here in UK,, even used to get the feeling that Pontiac started & finished the muscle era with the GTO in 64 (I think) & ended it in 74 with the SD 455 Trans am. Maybe. Tri Chevys was another BIG love,,,,,, BUT. Back to the ''Green'' hobbies > the last bit of shooting I did was killing a pair of rats the chose to use my buggy as a nesting place in 06. And last time I went for a paddle in the Canadian canoe was last year > I used to take my youngest daughter out in it, but now she's coming up to 13 years & started the 'BIGGER' school,, seems she's no longer interested in dads adventure trips along the rivers & canals
. I guess my latest hobby was spurred on by the British govenment, > telling us we shold all ''GO GREEN'' so I did my bit & bought a Jeep
Come on guys, what other things float ya boat??,,, lets see if we have anything else in common apart from plastic cars
Mel, Your timing with this thread is perfect. I just posted a new thread on a specific hobby that my wife and I have combined with our buggy. Have a look (geocaching and buggies). Bud

Bud, Jerry & Nelson > This is Great stuff!!! Geocaching is a new one to me, but armed with a GPS, a buggy & some wilderness, sounds like just the hobby to go along with some buggy fun. Think I saw pics of Jerrys cool black street rod on here a while back along with the neighbours Austin Healy,, how about some snap-shots of the RC planes? Will try & get a few pics of my old buggy toys for ya too. Nelson, your home grown bike looks like it could easy cope with soft sand & mud. Years back my buddy had a bike (not home grown) that looked very similar in style to yours,, think it was made by Suzuki, not sure,, 125cc??. Do you own any old British bikes too? like Triumphs & BSAs etc,, you can always see where old british have been parked by the puddles of oil they leave on the ground. Come on, don't be shy out there keep this stuff coming, I find it very interesting to see & hear about peoples hobbies >> any fishing guys?? lets see your catch,,,, anyone for a game of golf??
Mel, I can't post a very interesting picture of geocaching (imagine being out in the wilderness or even a very urban environment), but here's a website that will give you an overview about it: http://www.geocaching.com/ Also, another hobby/addiction for my wife and I is collecting pinball machines. Here is a sample of what we have:

It's amazing how much buggy people have in common with other buggy people. I also have a collection of 4 Honda Trail 70 mini bikes that I play around with. I bought a Williams "Golden Bells" pinball machine back in 1972 for $10.00 and still play it frequently.
This one isn't mine, but mine is identical. It's easier to find a pic online, than go down the basement to take a pic of mine.
You can see a portion of my VW toy collection in the Manx Gallery... http://www.manxgallery.org/gallery/album179?page=1

Pinball machines are like rabbits for us. Bought the first one and then over night they seemed to mulitply. We have approx. 15-18 various pins/pitch&bats. Bud

I have been into British bikes since I was in High School. My first British bike was a 1967 BSA Lightning, basket case. I fully restored the bike and after only a few hundred miles, I was offered what I thought was an unreal amount of money for it, and sold it. I used the money to buy a new 72 Triumph Trident in 1975 (still in the crate at the dealer) along with a ton of Dunstall parts to turn it into a "Cafe Racer" style bike. Here is a picture of my unrestored 72 BSA Thunderbolt, with only 2200 miles on it.

Allthough, I would make room for a "Cruisin 2000" game, if I came across one for the right price.

I'm getting the tank finished on the front one and just started digging into the rear one.
This was in 1978. I still have the Indian and Manx but was already loosing the hair.
