North of Ventura - Day Trip

My friend, Michael "The Manx Maniac" Cates, just about 35 minutes down the coast from me, invited me for a little buggy run as his right seat ballast. The destination was an old fire lookout tower about 100 miles from his house in Ventura, CA. The run was mostly pavement, but some nice "curvy" pavement, it was. The last 20 miles or so was on a dirt road. Our friend Jay "Jay Manx" joined us for the trip. Here are the pics... The day started out with some low clouds.
However, it did clear up once we got to Ojai.
On Hwy 33, there are some neat rock formations.
This was a nice place to stretch our legs, enjoy the sunshine, shed some jackets, take a pee, and for The Maniac and Jay -> yak a little.

A quick conference, this time, no getting out of the buggy.
After the "locked" gates, here is the next left turn, on to Santa Barbara Road.
Now, we're in a small canyon and dirt.
Here's the left turn to the top and the fire lookout.
And, just in case we didn't figure it out, Jay's got the "all purpose" sign that can tell anyone where to go. "It's this way, fool!"
Hey, that's our destination.
And, here we are!
Here's a pic for Lee.
The view was great.
In all directions.
Even "Bill the Cat" thought it was nice.
I can't seem to figure out how to post a video here, so... There's more to the
