Manx 2 sticker/ decal???

If I understand correctly, the emblem on that gold buggy is different then the emblem on most other Manx IIs. The gold manx is a Manx one body, made to the lower Manx II standards (thinner). It has a Manx II hood. Bruce only built 4 or 5 and put the different emblem on them. The serial number was a Manx I type number with a dash 2 at the end. He built these for a few customers who wanted the lower priced Manx II with the battery and spare tire indent.

I've seen one other car with the Manx1 tub and Manx2 hood, a red one. My ideal Manx would be a Manx2 hood and dash (so the wipers don't munch away at the fuel guage wiring), with a Siggy Manx body tub with a built-in cooler box instead of that silly spare wheel trough. Oh, and a bit more clearance above the clutch release arm. Time for a Manx 2 1/2 Bruce? :rock: I still want one of those Manx 2 stickers though!!!

I have one of the bodys with the -2 serial number and since it was listed in the registry I have been getting calls asking if I wanted to sell it from various club members. Now it's all starting to make sense I guess I need one of those stickers? Jerry...

Bruce has authenticated my buggy to be 66/67 built before number tags were put on the buggys. It has the badge on the front of the hood and the abs dash. It also has the battery and spare tire tray. Soooooooo what do I have? A manx I or a Manx II or a combination. when I was wiring it, I ran the wires down the side in the round support that runs from front to back. When I drilled a hole in the end of it, My drill came back with pieces of cardboard like stuff on it that looked like a roll from toilet paper or wrapping papper roll.

They were never called a Manx 1. The ABS dash, battery and spare tire wells were standard on Meyers Manxs (except monocoques and Manx-Vairs) prior to the Manx 2. They started making Manx 2s in 1969. The earliest Manx 2s had ABS dashes but no battery/spare wells. Later Manx 2s had a fiberglass dash, and most lacked wells but a few had them. I like your Manx, especially your hood hatch!

Thanks for setting me straight cairomanx. I was not sure of it. And thanks for the compliment on the buggy. I'm glad you like it. When I first bought it and saw the two big barn door hinges on it, I said to myself, (Being a newbe) boy oh boy what am I going to do with that and did not like the hood at all. BUT when I started the wiring, I said to myself, Boy oh Boy I love this hood. Everything is so easy to get to and to run down a short, blown fuse or Misplaced wire.
