single weber 40 idf

Post by joemama »

would a single weber 40 idf work on a 1914, stock dual port heads, engle 110, c/w crank, lightened flywheel, 009, compufire, sidewinder exhaust. Found a very clean carb, manifold setup, originally was going to use on my sons bug, but since I am having problems with the holley bugspray I have been trying to set up for my buggy, thought maybe give a try to the weber 40 idf, seems about the same size in terms of cfm, with a lot more possibilities for adjustments. I pulled it apart, and this is how it is currently set up. 28 venturi, 130 main gas jet, 165 air correction, f7 emulsion tube,50 idle jet, 50 pump jet, and 200 inlet valve. Anybody have experience or thoughts on this set up?

In a word, yes. Here's some light reading: http://aircooled.net/gnrlsite/resource/ ... rbs101.htm

Change the pump jet or ream it to a 75 or 80 and it should be in the ballpark.
