Ive been considering buying a disk brake kit for my link pin front beam. Have any of you used these kits? Are they worth the investment? Chirco has a kit that uses the existing spindles. http://www.chircoestore.com/catalog/pro ... ts_id=4094

Dennis Did you find your disc brakes? Which wheel bolt pattern are you going to use? For the front I modified a set of spindles to use Porsche 914 brakes and in the rear CB Performance rear discs with the e-brake. I am still working on it. Image

I would be interested in finding out how front disk brakes work out on the street. On the dirt, you want your best brakes in the back, because the front just locks up and slides, the back typically has tires big enough that they just overwhelm the brakes, and you cant make them lockup. So how do disks work on the street, not in theory, but in practical use. Thanks.

I bought the front disc brake kit from SoCal about five years ago for my Allison and have been quit pleased with it. I drive 90 percent on the streets and mainly at highway speeds. The buggy stops great. We all know that no one sees you coming in a buggy. Front disc are next in line for the65 baja I have been working on.
