I was reading another thread and noticed the picture below (Jim, I hope you don't mind me using this picture). I have the same problem with my clutch pedal bottoming out and hitting the tub (notice the paint chip in the picture). I've bought a couple of different rubber bump stops to position in the spot that the pedal hits, but wanted to see if there were any other suggestions/experiences before I drilled a hole. Anyone solve this problem a different way? Thanks, Bud

I would adjust the clutch and put a rubber baby buggy bumper on the "fire" wall.

Move the seat back further, so you can't push the pedal that far.

I appreciate all the suggestions . I guess I should just remove the wooden blocks from the pedals . I'll just install one of them thar rubber baby buggy bumper thingies. Now, can some one just give me a part number? Bud

You can adjust the pedal so that it disengages the clutch, without the pedal hitting the bulkhead. First loosen the bolt on the floor that holds the pedal return stop. Move the stop forward so the pedals are closer to you when they are at rest (not being depressed). Be careful when you adjust the stop that the pedal doesn't flop all the way over or the cable will come off the hook. Then go tighten the the big wing nut on the end of the clutch cable until you have the right amount of tension. If you have run out of adjustment on the clutch cable you might be able to get some more tension by stacking a couple more washer shims on the end of the pre-load tube.

I have seen a rubber stop, clamped to the back of the clutch pedal, on some of the older pedal assemblys, maybe an after market item. My clutch releases long before it hits the body, but bad driving habits has taken it's toll. Jimbo

I make upper control arms for Mopar stuff, they use a low profile rubber bump stop that has a stud molded into the unit. Just drill a hole where the dent is and bolt one one on. I don't know the part number, but a good parts house should have a catalog with pictures and dims.

Thanks to all that replied. I checked my clutch pedal and I don't have the tab on the back (rubber stop). I think the easiest thing for me to do right now is put a rubber stop (like Fubar suggested) on the tub. I still like moving the seat back idea................... Try looking at www.firmfeel.com click "B - body" then "tubular upper control arms" . It shows a black bump stop but it is a bit taller that the red urethane one on your link.
