FIBERGLASS DAY at the Petersen Automotive Museum
Saturday, June 26, 2010, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
6060 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, California 90036[/b]
The schedule for the day includes a public fiberglass car show, educational panels, and technical sessions
**Take advantage of a morning informational session on the current and upcoming requirements for registering your kit car, hot rod, or specially constructed vehicle at 11 a.m.
**Get all the details about GM's new E-Rod LS3 California emission compliant crate engine throughout the day.
**Technical sessions with Griot's Garage car care products, the official car care product provider of the Petersen Automotive Museum. Get your product questions answered and see how to care for and protect your vehicle! Sessions held at 10 a.m., 12 p.m., and 2 p.m.
At 1 p.m. Fiberglass legends will be speaking in an afternoon panel about their historic vehicles.
Guests of Honor include:
Bruce Meyers – Father of the Dune Buggy and builder of the Meyers Manx.
Harry Hansen – Designed and built an award-winning fiberglass car for Robert E. Petersen’s 1955 Motorama in Los Angeles.
Merrill Powell – Designed for and owned/operated Victress Manufacturing in the 1950s.
Harold Pace – Automotive photo-journalist, historian, and author of several authoritative books on kit, specialty, and race cars.
The panel will be moderated by fiberglass historian Geoff Hacker of http://www.forgottenfiberglass.com.
Participation in the car show is limited to cars with a primarily fiberglass body. Cars must be driven into place. Sorry, there is no on-site parking available for trailers. Participants may bring chairs only, no tables or tents. Cars must be placed onto the covered area of the third level of the Museum’s parking garage by 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 26.
Pre-registration is $10 per vehicle; on-site registration is $15 per vehicle. Registration provides free admission for two (2) to the Petersen Automotive Museum on Saturday, June 26, 2010, between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Car show viewing and all public programs are free to the public with purchase of Museum admission for the day.
