Try coating the end of the key with Plastidip. It comes in a variety of colors. You could shape the key anyway you wanted on a benchgrinder and then dip it.
PLASTIDIP CARQUEST has it. MURZ

Klinky Keys My hometown Lowes and Home Depot have custom printed key blanks with flames, animal prints, flowers etc.

If you have a GM ign. you can't run a VW key. It would be cool but as a locksmith, not worth the work. But, as mentioned, there are alot of designer keys. Go to a large lockshop for the best selection. No one has a buggy key(I looked), butthere are tons of choices. Kev, #893

My brother just finished this up for me. With a double Masters in Fine Arts and full access to the metals lab, he's nice to have around. He took the key that fits my current ignition and mated it to a NOS VW blank. When he was done, a quick bath in some nickel plate and I think I've got a very unique part. Both pieces look better mated than they did separately. That's a good thing. :hello:
