So as some of you know I was in a very serious accident. I just got some more x-rays done yesterday and i though I would put them up here for every ones enjoyment. I also wanted to re-say the main reason that I broke my back is because I only had lap belts in my manx. So please if you only have lap belts go and buy some shoulder belts and install them as soon as you can. It's a very worth while investment. If I could go back I would gladly spent the money to do it right the first time.
L3 to S1 fusion with hardware? I bet that was not fun! Good luck with your rehab! I had a friend who was thrown from a Jeep and had what appears to be a very similiar procedure. He did well.
As one recovering from back surgery right now I feel your pain. However, yours is much more impressive looking than mine. I wish you a speedy and good recovery.
No pics for me?? Anyway, hope your recovery goes well. I've done well after recovering from my back surgery. Sounds like mine was minor compared to your's!
What happened? Were you in a Manx? How well did it hold together/protect you in the crash? I've been T-boned and knocked sideways in a Manx and it was literally just scratched. The grill and front of hood and fender of the other car were smashed.
Looks like it was a ball joint front end. That's very fortunate because they have steering columns which collapse in a front end collision versus the older rigid type which spear the driver in the chest. The pan looks reasonably intact, like the fiberglass body absorbed most of the force. I don't believe the buggy was a Meyers Manx though.
WOW hard hit man. I see the battery ended up in the front side floor pan!! Very happy to see you up and running. Hope you get well soon and get a better buggy out of it!!
thanks guys. They pan buckled severely at the shifter as well as the frame head was twisted back about 6 inches. The as far as I could see the coulomb didn't collapse at all. The steering wheel took the impact of the driver but only after break her her jaw and almost her neck. Ya the accident was no fun. I'm trying to get the police photos from the scene. If i get those I'll post them up.
This is just a guess but I'm going to say around 50-60 mph of impact speed. So apparently a buggy in the shape mine as in (no cage only stock pans) can't handle 60 mph of impact. Just a random sine note. The other car looked just as bad as mine did. For some sick reason that always gives me a little gratification:evil:
