Dual Center Mount Carb or Dual Duals?

I am planning on an 1849 or a 1915 engine. Not sure which yet.I was wondering if you guys would go with a single 2 barrell downdraft or dual dual carbs.I know most will likely say dual duals but I've used the single dual (45mm Dellorto on an 1849) and loved it! I liked the lack of linkage issues, easier tuning etc.I didn't experience the "flat spots" everyone warned me about either. It just seemed to work well. The Duals I have are Dellorto 36's.If I go with the single carb I will buy a new one,(likely another 45 but i'm open to suggestions).Any opinions? I like dual Weber IDF's on an ACVW. They give you more performance and better fuel economy then a single IDF carb. I have also had several buggys running a single IDF and loved them.

Dellorto 36 DRLA's are great carbs and will work better on a mild engine than ANY single downdraft setup. Singles can be made to work OK, but they will NEVER give you throttle response of duals, or mileage. Singles are NOT easier to tune than duals. I think you got lucky with your last setup. I've ran single webers, dual webers, dual Dellortos, progressives, stockers, etc. I had dual 36 Dellortos on a mild 1641 in a '64 Panel and they were the most trouble free, best running carbs I ever had. I will say that I like Webers more, though. Just because they're simpler to clean, and the idle jets are easier to get to in a buggy.

I've always been impressed by the quality and completeness of CB Performance's dual Dellorto kits; I'd go for dual 40 Dells.
Hi guys I would ask about air filter clearance :2cents:
Kadrons or Weber 44's with air filters will fit under a Manx with no problems.
