Alot of people are using these plans for their cages. the only problem I have with it are the overhead bars, they are too close together for my liking.

If we're talking about this cage, I would think you could weld the overhead bars where you wanted them. This seems to be the "style" for street cruisers....much easier on the head getting in and out. Having a tube bender is pretty much mandatory unless you have a fab shop or a buddy close by.

I can't tell whats going on at the rear of the cage where the parallel side bars connect to the back hoop just below the one cross bar that runs side to side. There might be something welded there but I can't tell. Just make sure there's a plate or something in that area that attaches somewhere near the top of the rear shock mount just behind the fiberglass body. You need as many horizontal attachement points as possible to prevent the feet on the hoops from punching through your floorpan during a rollover. The Meyer's designed single hoop roll bar has this design and works beautifully. In fact, it's not even attached to the floor. Just my :2cents:

The only problem with moving the bars out further is head clearance, they will need a bend in them for head clearence. The bars on the 2 buggys in the picture are directly over head and I haven't had any issues with bumping my head upon entrance or exiting the buggy.

Here is a shot of the back of the cage, ooks like there are some tabs that go in the vicinity of the rear shock mounts. The last shot shows where it mounts to the body....that's a really nice buggy!

Yep. Those tabs are perfect. That was my only concern but it looks like it's been addressed. Go for it! Scott
