Left blinker trouble

Post by james lemmon »

my left blinker isn't working, my right blinker is working fine. It has a clicking sound when I engaged right blinker but when I switch it to left, both tail and front lights are not blinking and there is no clicking nose. I took the bulbs out and tried them in the right side and they work, so it's not the bulbs. I went through and checked the wiring and fuses and they are all good. so is it the relay? If so how can I fix it myself or is it just a replacement part? Thanks for the help, James Lemmon

Most buggy wiring woes are down to bad earth/ground connections, make sure there's a good ground wire between the lamp body and the car's frame before you try anything else...

You also might want to check the turn signal switch to see if you are getting contact on the left turn side. Since it is in a buggy, it is exposed to the elements and the contacts might be dirty. Sometimes just by jiggling the lever, you can get it to work. Otherwise, it can be removed and a little light sand paper on the contacts will clean them.
