Nelson, I remember you saying in a past post about guys in England with steam engines taking a pub break,,,,, well I just come accross this pic and thought it would bring back some fond memories of your Mildenhall years

The guys would just leave the tractors parked along the curb with the boilers steaming while they popped into the pub. The 422A1s are about a foot longer and more desirable. He's pretty proud of that one. That's a lot of money for a Mighty Mite.

Nelson, if you ever get the chance to watch any TV documentarys about a guy called Fred Dibnah they are well worth watching. Fred was a steam enthusiast from Bolton Lancashire that became a well known UK TV personality through a first tv doc that was made about his steeplejack business back in the 70's. Fred passed away a few years back, but in 2004 he drove his steam engine down to London where he was awarded an MBE by the queen. Two of Freds quotes > '' Steam engines don't answer back. You can belt them with a hammer and they say nowt'' and > ''Teaching boys to bake cakes? Thats no way to maintain an industrial empire'' Great guy & VERY interesting to watch if you do get the chance.
