Robert Wrens orange authentic UK Manx 2 , BOM on here a while back. Kevins Porsche (kit car). Martins XK 120,,,, a GRP kit car maybe,, but without doubt the best example Ive ever seen,, check out the underside of the hood, that was the rough side of the lay up. Still a few bit to fit like rear wheel spats (fender fill in panels) and hubcaps etc. Darrens buggy on roof of Peugeot,, should be on the roads in a few weeks. The old surf chick, awaiting a total rebuild,,,,,,, some day!. Allen, having a GRP lesson with some fat ol grey haired guy. Dave, how come you, Pete & Rob kept out of the photos?

Mel, Thanks, I had a very good time. Thanks for the GRP lesson, now I just need to get some time to try it myself. Dave, Only 3 complete days of sun on the entire trip (at least Saturday was one of them), and I still enjoyed my time in the UK. Thanks for making the long trip over to Mel's. And, it was good to put faces and voices to names (and meet some new buggy friends). Let's see if I have any different pics to share... - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Her's a pic of Robert's Claude's Buggies valve covers.
Here's a pic of Kevin's Porsche Kit car.
Here's a pic of Kevin, Robert, Mel & Dave (left to right). Dave's trying out the "fit" of a fiberglass bucket seat Mel made.
Another pic of Martin's XK120 Kit. I think I remember someone telling me that Mel did a LOT of reworking to make the kit as good as it is. That's Mel on the left and Robert under the hood.
More to come in a few minutes...

More pics... Martins XK120 kit.
Lifting the Red Flake Buggy that Mel made for Darren. That's the elusive Buggy Pete supervising on the far left. Then Mel, Darren (with his back to the camera), Robert and Dave (left to right).
Loading the Red Flake Buggy on top of Darren's car. That's the elusive Buggy Pete supervising on the far right.
I was going to include a pic of Darren holding the hood with the picture that Mel had glassed under the hood, but this is a family web site and too much detail was captured by my camera. Mel, did Darren ever say anything to you about it? Hey, thanks to all that were there. It was great taking a meal with everyone, once we found a pub that actually was open. Until next time...

Well, the curry story will just have to wait, it's best kept to a verbal account, instead of "in print". Maybe you guys will get over here for some Baja fun times or maybe I'll get back over there. In any event, I figured out how to blur the Russ Meyers Manx hood underside, so here that is. If the moderator wants it gone, either just remove it or let me know and I'll make it even more blurred or remove it.
I'll bet Darren will enjoy the wiring process under the hood / behind the dash a bit more than usual. I wonder if that will be a "selling point" when he finishes getting it built and ready to sell it? You might have started something here, Mel!

Guys,,, For a better veiw of the girl just watch the sand rail & Baja bug chase scene in the movie Super Vixens,,,,,, Think that was the one that starred a very similar looking chick. It was a long time ago,, maybe Im wrong or was just too busy looking at the buggies back then
Darren phoned today, said he hopes to be going to Baja in November for the 1000 :driving: I reckon its just an excuse to hunt that girl down
