gauge panel

Post by joemama »

On my buggy the gauge area of the dash is cut out, and a panel cut for gauges covers it, I made one out of oak and it looked great for a while, but as I keep my buggy outside, it has bleached out and cracked, etc. I would like to replace it with something more durable, and I am wondering what others have used. Any body use carbon fiber panel? Acrylic sheet? Would prefer to use something that does not create bright reflections, and can be tooled with regular holesaws, bits, etc. Thanks for your input.

I used 3/16 aluminum plate, you can give it a brushed finish, with a drill and wire brush, with any type of pattern, myself, I polished mine, looks much better Jimbo
