Picked up a 8" Beam from McKenzies for my Fiberglass Buggy which has a Dave Barrett Chassis. Not an exact fit the upper beam mounts are too wide, the chassis is about 29" and the beam is about 27" that's one inch per side too wide. Maybe trim the chassis mount a 1/4" and 3/4" on the beam brace or see if they will make a Beam 3" wider that will have to have 4 adjusters instead of two. They already make a 5" wider but I don't want to be that wide.

Hi Jay,
To me it looks like your only options would be to remove the shock tower braces or narrow the top mounts. Depending on how the top mounts a done you might be able to pull them together enough with a come-a-long. I don' t think I would trim the shock tower braces much. I know you said you didn't want to go with a beam wider than 3" but this one has a 6" beam and it looks okay.

Jay,
You can notch the clamps or trim the shock towers. The towers gussets are overkill for any shock you would want to use on the street and off road. That is unless you plan on using coilover shocks.
Get that buggy done. We miss you on the buggy runs. Next Manx Club run is Mammoth which is a great run. You have 2 months, get going. Feed Ed lots of coffee and donuts and make if work hard helping you.
Oh and don't worry about making it pretty. Somebody else other than Ira needs to win "Buggy In Most Need Of" catagory.

Yeah I had pretty well made up my mind to grind it to fit my chassis but it is always good to get some encouragement after spending a good chunk of change on this beam. It was made locally and it has some fantastic welds. So thanks dudes for the encouragement. Now I just need to find someone to at least start my 4 point cage. I'm fussy and I don't want to pay the big shop prices. Joseph I stopped making completion date's they just keep passing and no running Buggy, just got to keep working on it. Seeya on the trail soon. Louis nice Buggy.

Well got the front Beam to fit and the 8" towers stayed under the hood I'm happy. I'm taking it to Roll Bar shop in Corona for the whole cage.

Looking good Jay.
Yes those tubing clamps work great, much better than a flange mount for strength.
