Transvair conversion

I am resorting a 1967 Towdster that has a Transvair conversion for corvair engine and transmission.
Anyone familiar with this setup? It is currently set up for a Corvair manual trans. I am thinking of putting in an automatic. Do I need to make other changes i.e. different crossmember, etc?
