Early style shift rod coupler

Post by lastmanx »

I use an early style shift rod coupler that fits the rod and hokey stick poorly. it is slightly oversized in its diameter. so it has a little slop. has anyone used the urethane early type coupler, and does it fit better? I am looking for either stock or the urethane coupler with the correct diameter for a snug fit. any help please; as it is causing shifting problems. I will be at a vw swap meet this Saturday so I need advice today. thanks.

I would try a quality one from a good supplier:

There should not be any slop as the set screws tighten down and take that out, but yeah, it should fit fairly tight.
