Fan belt not vertical

OK....I replaced the broken generator pulley with a new empi pulley and its not vertical, I shimmed it out with washers but still not quite vertical, its a Porsche generator, any ideas?, can I just slide the whole generator aft?...I already added 2 washers between the generator and the pulley, can't put any more because of the keyway and 2 shims in the pulley, thanks

The store may have sold you a horizontal instead of a vertical fan belt.

The horizontal belts are only used on VW aircraft engines.

Unless you plan to go airborne, I wouldn't use it.

You can take the crankshaft pulley off and machine a little off of the surface that seats on the crank, but not so much that is will hit the case. Measure the clearance before you try this. Tom

You need to use a 6v generator pulley to us on your Porsche size 12v generator.
A 12v pulley has the wrong spacing since a regular size 12v generator is longer.
