I didnt, had to work and it was cold.

That's too bad Bob. I have been taking advantage of the nicer weather and driving the buggy to work all week. Low 40's in the morning and low 60's on the way home in the evening.

today I will take the manxter down to the car wash for its first bath. The weather is supposed to be in the 50s today, maybe I will get a chanch to take it for a drive. Bob

got the buggy washed. now its time to detail it.Boy, Death Valley trip was sure hard on it. Hopefully I wll have it ready for Calico so I can do it again.

I finally got mine put back together after a very long winter project. I added a new gas tank, re-wired under the dash, add an amp and speakers, and most importantly new wheels and tires! Don't have many miles on the new shoes yet. It's still a little chilly. Bud

WOW Bud! The new shoes really look nice! I saw on your album you had the rims done with custom (4.25 inch) back spacing. Does that get the tires completely under the Manx fenders? Do you get any tire rub on the body at full crank steering? Again, the baby moons and tire sizes look great on an already sharp buggy!

The backspacing does move the wheels in a lot under the fenders but not completely. I'll try to get some photos to show that and post them in my album. With the smaller diameter of the front tires (215/60) from the old tires (I think they were 235/60) I don't even come close to rubbing. The old tires did rub and I had to adjust the stops for the pitman arm to keep them from rubbing. I didn't have a very good turning radius before. Now I can turn on a dime. I'll try to capture that in a picture also. Thanks, Bud

I took the engine out and backed the tranny out to replace the horrible urethane gearbox mountings with some proper rubber ones. I'm going to fit a deep sump and filter pump while the engine's out. I also recently found and fitted some front Kelly tires to match my rears...

I just got mine licensed a few days ago (WOW what a hassle that was!)after building it for a year and a half. So I've been driving it all over for the last few days...and loving it. I've driven it around the neighborhood and a few of the local backroads before, but now I'm able to open her up on the main roads and find out her real charachteristics. It's really distracting driving it though. Here in Belize, there are alot of pedestrians, and people waiting for the bus, and it seems like everyone of them yells something as I pass. Every kid asks to drive it. I was on the road today following an old school bus, and in the back windows were 3 cameras flashing away, taking pictures of my car.

Cruised it out in the Arizona desert on a 60 mile jaunt this past Sunday. With the rain that we've had this winter, the desert is starting to bloom and looking quite green. Back out this weekend for another jaunt and will have the camera...

No enjoyment today, pouring rain here in St. Louis. I did get a chance to drive a little yesterday evening to try out the Siggy with the new dual 40IDF set up. Wow, they sure woke the ole Manx up! So far, as smooth as a baby's bottom, but will do a little more fine tuning. Looking forward to the first warm weekend day so I can clean it up and take it for a long drive to shake off the long winter hibernation.
