Delivery help for a hard top.

Post by Siggymanx33 »

I am looking to purchase a new hard top from Valley Center. Last I spoke to Winnie, she was unwilling to ship and offered me the 3 piece top. I haven't seen close up pictures of the top, but I think I would prefer the one piece. Does anyone have any good ideas on how to ship this that it wouldn't cost an arm and a leg? Is anyone shipping a Manxter to the Norteast? Anyone here a trucker looking to make some extra cash? Anyone from Phila. planning a drive to Valley Center (in an oversize truck) for their summer vacation It's not the end of the world but I figured if I don't ask, Ill never find out.

Manx Top Shipping

Post by Don Giovanoni »

Dave, I purchased a one piece hard top from Winnie last fall. She wanted me to order the 3 piece, but I was firm about the original. She had me get an estimate on the packaging and shipping from an Escandido firm. It wasn't cheap but it was packaged very well and the top arrived in perfect condition. It had to be shipped to a local trucking company where I picked it up. Here is the details, prices may be different now but I included the contact information for the Packaging Store for you. Hope this helps. Packaging .................................. 105.00 Shipping (Based on 100 Lbs)....... 140.25 Freight Insurance(700.00) ............ 22.89 Total $268.14 Tom and Bill Beecher Packaging Store 1291 B Simpson Way Escondido, CA. 92029 800-923-7225 760-745-7757 packagingca203@sbcglobal.net

Hey Dave Have you looked into a van line might be costly but then again i might not its not that big. They will blanket wrap it and keep it nice on the truck and the trailers usely have air ride. I still don't have a ansewer if i will have a truck out there and how far away valley center is from anaheim. and depends on the trucker i use if my friend does it i dont think he would charge for the extra stop. DO NOT USE a common carrier like yellow if you do get lots of insurance and you will end up with a 10 pcs roof. if you talk to a van line line get the qoute 1st then ask about putting it on a truck that has left over room and will pick up at the terminal. Dave: I have shipped several tops and haven't had a problem. If you call me I'll discuss some ideas with you. I have a couple Manx tops that are new, I'll sell you one for $250 and help with the shipping. Thanks Rick 214405 5155
