Doghouse coolers and towds

I am mounting the rear fenders and noticed that there is NO extra room between the fan shroud and thefenders. The stroker motor I am going to rebuild for the towd will have a doghouse cooler since there aren't alot of places to mount a remote cooler. And there definately is no room for that. I Could whack a huge hunk out of the fender cross piece, but feel that would weaken it. Any ideas? Help!!
