These cutaway pictures of a VW type 1 Bug tunnel have made the circuit before but you may want to add it to your favorites list for future reference.

I have an access plate on the right side of the tunnel opposite the clutch hole. It is a 4"x6 inch opening that is reinforced with 1"x 1/4" steel. It makes it a lot easier to access the clutch and brake pedal linkage. I installed Morse push/pull throttle and clutch cables in the tunnel and needed this access port to hook everything up. The cool thing about the clutch cable is that it is 3/16 diameter cable with an outside jacket. I never have to worry about breaking it. Same size that is on Kenworth truck. Went overboard because I did not want to deal with broken VW clutch cables and the Chevy Corvair clutch. I run a Corvair tranasaxle and Corvair engine utilizing a Hadley conversion kit.

I got a first hand look at mine when the clutch cable tube crossmember bent and broke away from its mounts in the tunnel. Good times. Great Pictures.
