Corsair project

Post by Mike-Presley »

Well, I just learned that if you delete a picture from photo bucket, it also deletes it from any post it might have been in.  Oooops.Anyway, on my project corsair I held off on the paint until next month.  I was trying to get and old unknown engine running when the wife told me we better never get stuck out in the middle of nowhere because I was using an old unknown engine. She said to get a good one from someone I trust.  So I took her advise again.  I decided to bolt every thing together one last time to make sure everything fit before paint.  With a new sidewinder exhaust on, the rear bumper didn't fit, it hit the tail pipe and was really close to the collector.  I made a new bumper and trimmed a little off the edge of my battery box. Everything else fits.

Good job. The cage looks very sturdy.

Finally got my body back from paint. Wow is it bright. Now to clean up the outside, make it black again, and remember how to put body Tab A into chassis Slot B.

Making some more progress slowly. I was going to polish the top but decided I didn't want to have to polish it every couple of weeks for the rest of my life. Got the underside upholstered with the sane vinyl as the seats and matching spare tire cover. Finished the dash panel. It plugs into the harness. Once the top is bolted to the hinges then the hood, headlights, and front bumper go on.

Pretty sweet setup. Looks like it's going to be a lot of fun, and it won't breakdown.

So do I see mounts in the back for a removable rack of something? over the spare tire.

Why yes you did. It mounts with the four quick release pins. Covers the spare and extendes over the air cleaner. I'll get out of the shed for a picture.

Seems like I've worked out all the little bugs so far. Everything is working. Looking forward to Big Bear for the buggy's first outing.

I made a pair of side racks a couple of months ago. Finally got time to powder coat and install them.

I've been planning a liftable for a long time. I've banged my head enough. Test fitted the brackets and lifts today. Works perfect, now to decide on the latch type. I've seen several I liked on nuggies at the runs.

Got the latch yesterday. First thing this morning went to garage, turned on the fan, cranked up the rock and roll, and got busy on the buggy. Life is good.
