I agree with you Tom, I think 200 miles is meant as a safety net in case the group gets on a long stretch of "no service". Driving to Moab for example yesterday, there was a stretch of 101 miles of no service. Getting caught in that stretch thinking you'll wait for the next fuel station can get you into trouble. When we approach a fuel station after the 1st 100 miles, we always check the GPS to see how far the next one is.

Right . . .Tom, Vincent, and Adam, We'll need to carry enough gas to cover 200 miles, but we will stop at locations when we know it's a "last chance" station or when we're running low.

We had a little bit of a hosting problem over the weekend, but www.seatoseasafari.com is back up and doing fine. In addition to antenna and full-sized Manx Club Flags, check out the Sea-to-Sea shirts and posters in the online store. 8 shirts sold the first hour they've been up, without any advertising. Please get your order in quickly to avoid having to wait for the second batch to be silkscreened . . .

Hi Adam!  The color separations to do them on a white shirt will add some expense, but we may be able to on batch 3 . . .(we are already on batch 2).  Bruce has been signing them on the white hat he's wearing within the design:-)

Is there a clickable map we can check so we can see the actual route and not just the stops? I"m hoping to meet up with the ride around Ashville, NC and I'd be more than happy to just join in route if that' sok.

On the most current route proposed there is a stop in Winston-Salem. on day 6. Not sure which hotel the group will be staying at.

Here's a link to the Kickout SS being built for the Sea-to-Sea safari.  After Bruce drives it to North Carolina, we'll ship it back here to await its lucky new owner.  I have applied with the California Attorney Generals office to get a permit for raffling off this buggy. We probably won't be able to start selling tickets until late September, with the lucky ticket being drawn at Big Bear in July 2014. The winner doesn't have to be present to win, but they do have to be a member of Manx club, and will be responsible for taxes and shipping. (Of course, there would be no shipping because I'm sure whoever wins this beast will be coming to Big Bear to drive it home!!!)

The hotel block is coming together . . . slowly!

But, we've made progress . . . I now have a firm commitment from San Diego CA, Tucson AZ, Winston-Salem NC, and Nags Head North Carolina. Unfortunately, I can't release the information until early next week because it takes 24-hours before the block of rooms show up on the hotel's reservation system.   Once the group rate is in place I'll update this thread and the Sea-to-Sea Safari website with everything you need to know to book your rooms.  Tay tuned!

Good morning!  I'm sorry to report that someone hacked the Sea-to-Sea site.  We're working on getting control of the site back, hopefully it'll be back up soon! Sorry for the inconvenience!
