Just got our shirts . I got to say these MOTB - 2012 tee shirts are fine lookin' Great design You guys do such good work.

Thanks for the complements but your artwork really made the shirts this year. I'm glad you and others bought your shirts early. The most popular colors and sizes are going fast.

Just set the windshield on the car last night, got to redo the ground strap and adjust the gearshift lever to get first gear, and we're ready for October. To make things better today's "Registration Day". Life is really gooooood.

There have been a number of questions asked about camping during the MOTB. I decided to consolidate the camping information in this one post. None of the locations are endorsed or are sponsors of the event. Additionally, this link contains general information on the OBX area. It is a great reference:

This is probably the most inclusive list of campgrounds available. When you go to this link click on “Category” and select “Campgrounds/RV Parks”. You’ll want to look for something in or near Nags Head or Kitty Hawk since that is the base of operation for the MOTB.

Please note there have been some minor scheduling changes for the MOTB events. Nothing has been removed; just rearranged. Since the majority of the Manx Club Board of Directors are going to attend the event, we are going to have a brief and open Board meeting with and for all club members.

If you get a chance check out the MOTB info in the new issue of the Manx Mania. An added bonus is the registration form you'll find inside the magazine. Don't let the deadline for registration or lodging pass you by.

Big planning weekend (this weekend). Vince and I are pre-running the various runs, mapping out the Geocache locations, and finalizing eateries. Can't wait for October. Hope to see you all there.

Thanks for the feedback on the article. I was hoping it would help with the interest for the event.

We have about 20 buggies registered with about 40 people so far. Hopefully people will realize the deadline for registration is 30 Sept (just a few weeks away).

If you are interested in an event shirt please don't wait. The shirts have been selling faster than I expected. I placed a reorder last week for XLs and XXLs and only have 1 XXL left as of this weekend. I do have a number of Med and Lg shirts and a few XLs left. I don't plan to order any more shirts.

Quick Note: I've updated the Manx On The Banx website to include a "checklist" of things to bring to the event. If you are interested or planning on coming to the event you might want to print the list off to help you organize your packing. If you are planning to come to the MOTB 2012 and haven't made your lodging arrangements please be aware that the special deal we have with the Travelodge expires on Saturday (8 Sept).

One of the new things we are going to try for this event is Dune Buggy Geocaching. This event/competition is self-paced and should be a lot of fun for the veteran geocacher or for anyone that's never done it before.

Have a look at www.manxonthebanx.com for more information (e.g. description of the event, rules/instructions, and the geo-coordinates for the cache boxes).
