Retro Event

Post by YellowSafari »

Excited about the Retro event getting ready. Questions which is easiest way to go, from 15, or the 10? Driving gas powered RV towing buggy on trailer.
2nd how much highway driving to trails or Anza-Borrego Desert State Park.
Thanks

Probably best not to tow through Julian, as there is a very steep grade coming out of there. From the L.A. area, last time we took the 15 to the 79 to S2 to the 78 (for just a few hundred feet at scissor crossing) then back onto S2 to the RV park. No major grades. You can also drop in off of the 10, to the 86, to 78 to S2. Both are fairly long, but fair to drive in an RV towing. For comparison sake, while it takes us 3 hours to get to San Diego from our house by car, it takes over 5 hours to get to the RV park in the RV (due East from San Diego as the crow flies). Once at the RV park, there isn't too much driving to get to most of the off-road trails. And Julian is a must in the buggy too (about 20 minutes away if I remember correctly).
