Announcing Manx On The Banx (MOTB) 2016

It’s hard to believe, but we are only two (2) weeks away from opening early registration for MOTB 2016. I have updated the event website with a lot of new information, including the tentative schedule of events. Please visit the site for the latest and most up-to-date information.
Like all Manx Club events, the MOTB is a self-funding event. What does that mean? Outside of attendee’s registration fees, the largest financial contribution to any club event is through the sale of raffle tickets and silent auction items. The items that are raffled off or sold at auction are all provided by generous donations from club members, club sponsors, and merchants. The MOTB has been very fortunate to have great people, sponsors, and businesses that support this event year after year.

To ensure we raise enough funds this year, we are reaching out to our club members and sponsors to donate now. If you have something that you would like to donate please contact me (Bud) through the event website. If you know or have a relationship with a business that you feel would provide a valuable item or service to our buggy attendees, please approach them and solicit a donation on behalf of the event. Whether you have an item or items for our daily raffles or a specialty item for our silent auction, we would greatly appreciate the donation(s).
Hope to see you all on the Banx in Oct.

Tom,

The Outlaw rules are at the bottom of the rule sheet on the website. Basically the only difference is the weight is raised to 10lbs and no restrictions on the wheels or height (nose height remains the same). Have a look.

NEW! SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

The MOTB has just received a very special and valuable donation that we will be auctioning off at the event in October. Subarugears (Todd Triebler) has donated one of his flagship products, a Rear Drive Conversion Kit (retail price of $1900), to the event. Due to the value of this donation there will be a minimum starting bid assigned. Additionally, and for the first time ever, we will accept phone bids during the auction (pre-arranged). As with all silent auction purchases, you may use a credit card.

If you are thinking about or planning for a Subaru conversion for your project, you shouldn’t pass up this opportunity to purchase this kit at a potentially significant savings on a key component. Please visit http://www.manxonthebanx.com for more info or to contact me (Bud).

Visit http://www.subarugears.com for more information on this great product.

It's TIME! Early registration is now open for Manx On The Banx (MOTB) 2016. Please visit the event website, http://www.manxonthebanx.com to get your early registration form and see what we have planned for this year. There will NOT be a mass mailing of the registration form to the membership, so you must download your from from the site. There will be a registration form included in the upcoming Manx Mania, however there are no guarantees that the Mania will reach you before the deadline (Sept 16th) for post marking your forms.

If you are planning to attend MOTB 16 you may want to sign up for the closed FaceBook group called "Manx On The Banx". Just put the title in the FB search bar. I will be using this closed group to communicate scheduling changes or other important information to the attendees during the event.

I hope to see you on the Banx in Oct!

Exciting news! The agenda for MOTB 2016 has been finalized. What you will find is that we've added many new venues for gatherings, new street run options (including a wine tasting) for those who may not want collect sand in their buggy, and a new competition that will be held on the beach. A number of favorite activities remain such as valve cover racing, blindfold derby, slow drag racing, human-powered drag racing, and our poker rally (make sure you bring your bug spray).

Please review the new agenda under the menu item “Calendar of Events 2016” on the event website http://www.manxonthebanx.com

If you have joined the closed FaceBook group called “Manx On The Banx” you will be able to download the new agenda under the “Files” section. This group will be used to communicate information to the attendees during the event.

We are within six weeks of the MOTB, so if you haven’t sent in your registration yet, please don’t delay as the last day for early registration is September 16th. Registration forms are available at http://www.manxonthebanx.com

Bud,

Great job on modifying and updating the 2016 MOTB Agenda. It looks like there is a lot for everyone to do, instead of the it is Monday,
go to the lighthouse routine. There is enough scheduled to keep both the rookies and the MOTB veterans busy for the week. I am looking
forward to reading very good reviews from the club members who attend .

I have been to the first 5 MOTB events and for the most part was growing a bit tired of the cookie cutter approach to the agenda. I was
dissatisfied the last 2 years and decided to make different plans for this year. Perhaps, the reviews will make us change our minds and
attend MOTB 2017.

Meanwhile we will have to be content with watching the Fall colors go by while on a 9 day steamboat cruise on the Upper Mississippi River.
This trip is right off the bucket list, and I have wanted to do it for decades.

Now, if I can just get a buggy stowed away on the American Queen, to use in ports of call, instead of the coach bus.

Thanks Joe. There are/was a lot of contributions on the agenda submitted by the attendees and we always try to find something new to do. Some ideas work and some don't. There is definitely something for everyone. There are a few surprises still to come.

I have to say that there is a feeling that the attendees (me included) see this event as "their" event. A lot of the ideas come directly from suggestions and actions of the membership. My contribution is small. I just get to be the pretty face

Sorry we'll miss you and Jayne this year.

For those reading this and interested in the event, visit the event website often. Pictures, news, announcements, and updates during the event will always be posted there. http://www.manxonthebanx.com

Don't forget that early registration ends on 16 Sept. Here's a surprise that I'll post here first. For the first 80 registrations submitted, you will receive a very special attendee gift. I promise you'll love it and find it very useful. Registrations are coming in daily. Don't miss out.

Not that you can rely on their info but....
The long range weather shows a mix of sun/cloud with highs in the mid 70s, nights dipping into the low 60s. Only a slight chance of rain....other than our departure Sunday when the forecast says make sure you put your Rainex on!

Looking forward to tbe trip down the DelMar peninsula, the Chesapeake Bay bridge/tunnel, as well as an entire week on the Banks!

We're stoked!
