Installing original Manx soft top

Post by newmanx59 »

I recently had the windows replaced on an original Manx soft top. Now I would like to install it on my buggy. Does anyone have the instructions that would tell me the sequence needed to install the hardware on the body so I can be sure the top is installed correctly?

Jerry, Im not sure if my top is original, when I first saw my ManxII rusting away it has 2 tops. By the time the guy decided to sell it to me there was only one soI dont know if this helps. The top I do have has shrunk so I need to have a new one made but I have installed it. It takes 2 people one on each side. Hold the top by the crossover support tube in the brackets on either side and install the screws. Then pull the top toward the front and slide the flat metal strip into the windshield. Then snap the rear in place. I have adjustment straps on mine attached to the crossover tube. make sure theses are loosened if the top seems too tight.
