We picked up our Dual Sport kit that's been sitting at Meyers Manx HQ for a few months.
It's kit #30 ordered in December 2014 so it has the 50th Anniversary plate.
The color code is 66P Brilliant Western Blue. The plan is for a full tube chassis, with Subaru power and transmission.

I've already been shopping for some suspension items, Woods 2 1/4 arms for the front and Kar-Tek 3x3 rears for Micro Stub axles.

Looking good, it is the 1st Blue Manxter DualSport I have seen which is cool.

What's your plan for the spindles and steering ? Guessing by your collection you are going K&L Front and Microstub Rears.

What shocks you using ?

Looks good Mike & Lori Ann.
I see the 3 Hooligans (LaVerne, Timothy, and Tim) were there to help out.
One recommendation I have is to replace the inner pivot bushing on rear trailing arms with SACO yellow ones. They squeak less. KarTek sell just the bushings without the inner sleeve too. They also carry the Delrin bushings.

Yes we'll be going King & Link pin spindles, I'm still shopping for them. The items I've picked up already we due to some really good deals on Race-Desert.com. Brakes-I'm leaning towards the Jamar Pro X set up, as for shocks and steering I haven't set anything in stone, I know I have a lot of home work to do.
Joseph-I will definitely heed your advice on the pivot bushings, We've got the neoprene bushings in our GMC Jimmy and they are driving us crazy with the squeaking.

So obviously it's been a while since I've posted on this project, since then I've picked up a donor 2001 Forester while at the SEMA show in Las Vegas, it ate a timing belt but I acquired some needed parts for only $600 and a U-Haul trailer rental to get it home.

The Engine and Transmission went to Subieworks in Murrieta, CA for a complete rebuild on the Engine and installation of the Subarugears Reverse rotation ring & pinion kit.

We were finally able to pick up our new chassis, it is based on the DSBE that has run in Baja and then driven to Buffalo, New York and back. As with everything else the designer identified a few things he wanted to do different so he incorporated them in this version. When you are ordering something that is custom built it just takes a little more time, but it was well worth it, now it's up to me to get some stuff fitted into place and tack welded on.

DSBE Chassis in it's new home ready for me to work on.
4267
Yeah, I've got a bit of work to do!
4269
I should be able to get a little bit of travel with this set up.

Some really cool personal DSBE touch's
Damn nice weld's too!

Like all Meyers Manx Buggy Kits they are 100% USA Made and where designed and made by Bruce Meyers .

They are assembled in Valley Center CA where they can be picked up or shipped from.

The Chassis was designed on CAD to ensure we did enough to pass FEA but not enough to make it a fat ugly overweight pig :)

Working pics as it comes to life :)

Once designed we built it. All USA Steel from Competitive Metals. Chassis and cage are a mix of 1020 DOm and 4130 CM. It is all tig welded.

Meanwhile Chris at SubiWorks is hard at it finishing off the engine.

Engine is running one of the SubiStuff shortened sump which when fitted with a SubaruGears Transmissions gives close to stock clearance meaning the lowest part is the sump plug.
