Vince, congratulations on the 2 + 2, how far along; are you closing in on the finish line?

How did you decide on Subaru power, not VW? With water cooled will you have heat in the cockpit? I live in Wisconsin and would want heat if possible. Will you install newer fuel injection or rebuild a carbureted Subaru? What exhaust do you use for a deeper sound?

I am a new member and very early in the learning curve. I think I would like to own a 2 + 2 some day, mostly for street but a little it of off road.

Thank you,
Floyd Leo

Hi Floyd, progress is pretty slow in the summer as we take every opportunities to travel with our other buggies... We're still hoping to have it on the road for next season.

We decided to go with the latest Subaru has to offer with an FA2.0 Turbo out of a WRX 2015. As far as I know, ther's only been one other buggy built with this powertrain in Australia.

It will have heat and we're planning to retain the AC as well.

Good luck with your ambitions to build a 2+2!

So.... almost a year down the road from your last post and I don't recall having heard of a test drive.
Any pics of the current status? Will it see the light of day in 2018? ( As if I am one to talk with a still unfinished Tow'd)

Paul

if you had left the engine and A/C in the Subaru you could have been driving all along. I have seen many Subaru wagons drive my beach over the last 20 years, they go pretty good bone stock and the drivers look happy and comfortable inside with the windows rolled up.   :P :P  :D
