Parts Cleaner

Post by Reverb »

I bought a new nose cone for my transaxle. It came with a protective coating of grease/wax type stuff. What is the best way to remove this coating for paint? I don`t want to use too harsh of a solvent, because I`m worried about harming the rubber hockey stick seal.

You can buy degreaser concentrate by the gallon from places like Home Depot that works very well and doesn't attack rubber.

A bit of kerosine or petrol should do it...no smoking though!!!
