Buggy Runs/Adventures

Post by ManxManiac »

I originally posted this a couple years or so ago here on the "Manx Club" site. I'm reposting it, as I thought it might spur some interest in folks to get together with like minded folks more often & have more FUN FUN FUN than ever thought possible! ImageImageImage

From "day one", Bruce & Winnie "always" encouraged everyone in the Manx Club to get together "in their own areas" & have little runs/adventures. That's why a lot of the buggy "splinter groups" got started. No entry fees, no show 'n shine, just lots of trail riding, fellowship, a fantastic potluck & plain ol' FUN FUN FUN.

Some folks only like to attend "official" Manx Club runs, so they can enter the show 'n shine & buy raffle tickets & all the other goodies that accompany an "organized event".

Some folks like to just meet at a "pre-determined location" with "like-minded individuals" & make their own arrangements for the weekend. Though the runs/adventures are somewhat pre-planned, part of the FUN FUN FUN is the mystery of not knowing exactly where the trail will lead. No entry fees or liability waivers, just a get-together to enjoy an area & each other's company & let's not forget the awesome potlucks.

Whether it be a street type run/adventure, a on & off-road run/adventure, an all out rock climber run/adventure or any combination thereof, Manx club members &/or buggy folks from all over this great country we call home, should be having the most FUN FUN FUN that is possible with their fun little cars that, "thankfully", Bruce Meyers designed & manufactured & handed to the world.

We are blessed here in the West/Southwest USA, in that we have some of the most ideal weather & the best on & off-road areas to go play in. Runs/adventures don't have to be 2,3,4 or more days long in order to have the maximum amount of FUN FUN FUN. Sometimes the ones that are only hours or one day long can be the best.

So, everyone think about it, contact the local buggy folks in your area, step up & take the reins & officially or un-officially, organize, plan & execute a buggy run/adventure. You'll be glad you did.
