Meyers Lynx Picture

Post by CairoManx »

I noticed this among some pictures of Steve McQueen taken before the 1970 Sebring race in Florida. He's riding a Meyers Lynx. His left foot is broken and in a cast. Image

Nice find Nelson, I'll print that out and frame it...

Can't be sure whether its a Lynx 65 or 63. Definitely has the 6" wheels. Image

I just came across this excellent website about John Steen and his Taco minibikes. Its one of the best websites of its kind I've ever seen. Steen was a friend of Bruce Meyers and made the Meyers Lynx which B. F. Meyers & Co. sold. The website explains that John Steen was a member of the 64 ISDT team along with Steve McQueen, which may partially explain how McQueen came to ne riding the Lynx in the picture at the start of this thread. http://www.steenstacominibikes.com/STEENS_History.html http://www.steenstacominibikes.com/Index_Home.html
