Hello

I found in the South during my vacation this buggy.
Some details makes me think of a true Manx.
(Front bumper, dashboard, emblem Manx holes on the front cover).
Thank you to tell me if my identification of a Manx is right or wrong

Only Bruce could tell for sure but it looks the real deal to me...did you get any photos of the rear showing any evidence of a rear badge? I've never seen a clone with badge holes drilled in the front.

Did you buy it???

Those broken pins from the front badge are indeed a good indication. My Manx hood looked  just like that when I got it. Also the holes for the rear badge would be a good indication, (which by the way are different than the later ones). Are there any holes indicating where the ID Tag might have been? Manxdavid is right only Bruce can tell for sure. But if it were me and it was for sale, I'd take the chance.

In fact I'd go as far as to say I'm 99.9% sure it's the real deal!!!

No David I have not yet purchased. One Sunday just before a storm I could not find anyone in the street. I'm trying since my return in France to find the name of the shop owner. I contacted the local Chamber of Commerce and i wait a reply. Other Ideas are Welcome.

Having never needed to identify a Manx, I don't know all the specifics for doing so. For example, I did not see the identification plate because I have not sought where she must be. Nevertheless I agree with David that it is true Manx or it is the best clone with a Manx logo on the hood.

Of course I will keep you informed of my efforts. If the asking price does not allow me to acquire and import it. I will give the informations to the Club.

Can you tell me a basis for negotiation of a vehicle in this state with or without papers (no engine in place)

Thank you for your help.

No David I have not yet purchased.

There are a few things you can look at to tell if this is a real Manx or not. Tubes along the underside of the body, a badge near the shift coupler cover, etc ... http://www.manxclub.com/realmanx.htm">This%20link
will give you clearer directions on finding out the truth.  However, I do think this may be a real Manx and just like everyone else has said, only Bruce can tell for sure.

The small back fender support seen over the rear tire is another sure indication it is real, looks like a good find, best of luck on buying it.
