Question about the Manx 2

Post by CairoManx »

I have a question about the color of the fiberglass dash on Manx 2s. I think they were all the same color as the body but I might be mistaken. What have you all seen? Were they always originally the body color or were some maybe black? Let me know.

Nelson, our Manx 2 is original with the same color dash. Our Manx Utility is also original and has a black dash.

I thought all Utility Manxes had Manx 2 hoods and dashboards?

This is the best pic I have of one of the utility Manxes that Meyers Manx moulded as opposed to the green one above that was produced after the moulds were sold in the auction (possibly to Karma Coachworks?). Hard to tell for certain what dash this has got.

I have 2 ManxVairs. One has the molded hood and dash, and the other has the ABS dash.

The way to tell if its a Manx 2 is if it has a 10 digit tag serial # that begins with A or it has a 4 digit tag serial #.

I know some Manx 2s had small bumps on the nose and an ABS dash. Some Manx 2s had a black Manx 2 dash and some had a body color Manx 2 dash. Some Manx 2s had tubes(always on both sides) and some didn't have any tubes.

I know the -2 Manxes had wells in the back seat (and tubes and a Manx 2 hood and dash), but I'm not sure if there were any regular Manx 2s that had wells in the back seat. Has anyone seen any?
